Yvonne has been a lampshade aficionado forever. She remembers the charming fabric lampshades in her grandparents’ home in England, and an eclectic assortment of twinkling fairy lights and lanterns adorning her home and bedroom as a youngster and was fascinated.
Creating Custom Lampshades became her passion 15 years ago when she first put “twill to wire”, “stitch to silk”, and “custom embroidery embellishments” on her first lampshade. She has sold her custom lampshades the world over from South America to Saudi Arabia, and to Hotels and Inns from the Midwest and East Coast to San Francisco to rave reviews, and honest to goodness “take your breath away” moments! Consider yourself fortunate to own one, a pair or many: this lost art of hand made custom lampshade making is all too rare in our cookie cutter world.

- How long does it take to create a shade?
- Approximately 2 weeks once the frame and design is chosen, plus time to ship. Shipping UPS Ground from west coast to east coast USA takes 5 days.
- How do I begin to create my shade?
- Yvonne will consult with you by email or phone on various treatments for the panels. She will request your input on frame choice, color, fabric choices and whether you wish plain, rosette or pleated panels.
- How can I see and feel the fabrics?
- Yvonne will mail you fabric samples.
- Can we use fabric that I may have already from draperies or cushions in my home?
- Yes but first consult with Yvonne to see if the fabric is suitable for a lampshade.
- Can I recover an existing lampshade?
- Yes if it is a wire frame. Just send us the shade to work with.
- Do you sell lamp bases?
- No, but have fun at antique shops, grandma’s attic or yard sales finding your perfect lamp base.
- Where are you located?
- Long Beach, California.
- Do you sell just the unfinished frames?
- No, sorry.
- How do you get the exact color of fabric I wish to have?
- We hand dye the fabric to your wishes.
- Can I have a custom sized frame other than what is offered?
- Yes, but there will be a nominal fee for that service.
- Do you accept credit cards?
- Yes (via PayPal). We also accept checks.
